Expertwired operated a standard expert network model. Experts set their own rates, with Expertwired adding a 20% platform fee on top, plus additional charges for custom sourcing, interview transcripts, and survey or poll questions. The company said it paid experts an average of €400 per interview, describing itself as the highest-paying platform for experts globally.
Expertwired was one of the handful of firms outright stating they use AI and machine learning in their work. Much of this technology is common across all larger expert networks. That said, various networks emphasize it more than others in their marketing. These include Deepbench, Atheneum, proSapient, NewtonX, and techspert.io.
In March 2021, Expertwired raised close to €1m from various angel investors. In May 2022, Expertwired raised €1m from the angel syndicate Pop Up Qapital and existing investor MB Capital.
In September 2023, the firm announced it was shutting down.
