The Xperiti expert network was started in 2017 and went live in 2018. The company has offices in Israel, New York, and a team of research analysts in the Philippines.
In February 2023, the company was acquired by Ipsos, a global market research firm. While Ipsos has traditionally focused on B2C research, the acquisition followed a push into B2B. The acquisition came soon after Ipsos hired a long-time Dynata executive as COO. Most of Xperiti's original co-founders, including its CEO, are no longer with the company following the acquisition.
Xperiti operates a standard expert network, mainly serving hedge funds. In April 2023, following the Ipsos acquisition, the company launched Vepp, a B2B respondent verification tool using six layers of real-time fraud detection - sounding similar to those built by NewtonX, Potloc, and Walr.
Xperiti raised funds three times before being sold:
June 2019 - raised $500k from IBI Tech Fund and 97212VC.
November 2019 - raised $1.2m from New York angels and others.
January 2022 - raised <$300k from VersatileVC.
February 2023 - Xperiti was acquired by Ipsos. In hindsight, the acquisition seems to have been mostly cosmetic, as part of the Ipsos inorganic growth agenda. Xperiti was and remains a tiny operation.
