Catalant mainly coordinates longer-term consulting projects, but offers expert network services as a component through its expert marketplace. The company was founded in Boston in 2013 as “HourlyNerd” and rebranded to Catalant in 2016.

As of March 2024, the network had grown to 80,000 experts. This pool of talent became accessible to clients of Acropolis Advisors through a strategic partnership announced around the same time.
